The foundation is secure, and the upper floors are now under construction

The Seven Pearl development has reached a new and significant milestone: the foundation and initial structural works are complete, the cranes are now advancing toward the upper floors, and it won’t be long before we reach the building’s highest point.

The cranes towering above the city proudly announce that something truly impressive is being built here. The greatest challenge of Seven Pearl is also its greatest value: taking care of what has been part of Erzsébetváros’s history for 180 years. The development at 10 Dohány Street and 8–10 Síp Street will not only create 163 new apartments and several commercial units, but will also reinterpret a one-and-a-half-century-old building complex for future generations. The building, originally constructed in 1844 based on the plans of József Hild, also bears the traces of later expansions and historical eras — Seven Pearl does not erase this past, but builds on restored foundations and complements history with modern luxury.

Structural construction has already reached a new level

Structural work on the floors to be added has already been completed, and the structure of the two-level underground garage is also finished. In the other buildings, construction has now moved above ground floor level throughout. According to the current schedule, the development is expected to be completed by the end of 2027. The three buildings will offer apartments ranging from studios to larger 4+1-bedroom homes, including some with private garden access. The project also includes 11 commercial units and an underground garage with nearly 150 parking spaces.

History that is here not just as decoration, but as a foundation.

The historical significance of the site is further strengthened by the fact that this was once also the workshop of Miksa Róth — the leading stained-glass artist of the Art Nouveau architecture of the early 20th century. In tribute to his work, two contemporary glass artworks inspired by him — created by László Hefter, the best-known restorer of Miksa Róth’s works — will also become part of the residential complex; they are currently on view at the Hungarian Jewish Museum. Seven Pearl is not simply a new residential development, but the saving and repositioning of a building complex that contains a century-long story: in the heart of Budapest’s 20th-century Jewish quarter, right next to the largest synagogue in Europe. The additional floors to be built on the building, together with the modern renovation, preserve the architectural and craftsmanship memories of the 19th century while offering modern, energy-efficient homes.

What does this mean for future residents?

Seven Pearl was conceived through careful planning, ensuring that each apartment makes the most of the available space, natural light, and its connection to the surroundings. The homes combine classic elegance with a contemporary style, offering generous layouts and premium materials throughout. As the structure continues to rise, we are getting closer to the day when a new and impressive residential complex — worthy of this unique location, the magnificent neighboring Synagogue, and the area’s centuries-long history — will be realized in the heart of historic Erzsébetváros.
